Martha Blouse - Deckchair ONLY 1 SIZE 12 LEFTRegular price £50.00 Sale price £35.00 Save £15.00
The lovely striped deckchair print was so popular last year we've bought it back, with the same size tweaks as the other new stock. I'm going to bag myself another one and wear it as a jacket at the beach
Deckchair might seem like a funny name for a blouse, but look at those summery fun stripes that just want to be taken on holidays and worn while eating ice cream! Also, it is better than "awning" which was our first choice!
In 100% cotton stripes of green, orange, yellow, red, turquise and blue. It will go great with all your casual wear, and I dare say, be a bit funky if it was peeking out from under a suit too.
We've named the Martha blouse after Shona's great grandmother, a real adventurer, who followed her children out to New Zealand after her husband retired. Now that is some trip to make later in life. We think the Martha set is all about adventuring, even if it is a bit more urban than a pilgrimage on a sailing ship - just look at the pockets on the jerkin!
This style of blouse, with the strong pointed collar and darted shoulders shows up in sewing patterns from 1941 - 1946. The collar itself lived on a little longer, still appearing at the start of the New Look era.
