Beach Pyjama Trousers - Duck egg blue
Regular price £85.00 (£70.83 ex VAT) Save £-70.83These come up generous in comparison to our regular ladies swing trousers so you can choose a size down
Beach pyjamas of the 1930s were sold separately or made as sets, trousers and a top and perhaps a jacket to coverup with.
This colour is summer and you know it. It will tone with all the blues, and you can match it to ivory, beiges and teals to create a beautiful harmonious outfit. Pinks and warm reds can add pops of delight and dark brown can add depth. Our Sunset Olivia top (available shortly) actually has a duck egg stripe so you could wear that and really make a summer statement.
The buttons on these have been dyed to match the buttons on the Olivia blouse, making it a lovely set
The fabric is lovely, and we were so glad to get our hands on it (It sells out each year). It is a stretch linen-Viscose with 27% Linen, 70% Viscose and 3% spandex. The Linen lends it weight and that richness of long summer days at ease, the viscose lends it extra drape and swish (gotta love a swish) and the spandex helps the garment keep it’s shape. Now a warning: It did shrink up a little when washed at 30 degrees, It went from 31” inside leg to 29.5” after ironing. This is common for linen and viscose and we have left 1.5” hem allowance to help if you need the length.
Please do not use a dryer for viscose (any viscose, not just ours) as it will shrink in both length and width and you will not regain it when ironing it out. Washing will cause slight shrinkage
We added an elasticated waistband at the back. It's not authentic, but we thought of everyone at the beach, eating ice creams and feeling hot, and sitting on the sand. A firm waistband just doesn't seem comfortable enough. So we made the decision for comfort, and added the sash so you can hide that elastic and swan about like a film star with a lovely long sash about your waist.
Once you've placed your order we'll ask our UK manufacturers to finish it for you. It could take up to a week. (We'll keep you informed regarding the delivery date)

CHECK OUT THE BUTTONS! Aren’t they lovely? We hope you think so. They are actually painted wood from our lovely UK suppliers.
The best way to describe the colour is Saffron. It’s not as tan as Ochre, and not as bright as marigold. It loves an earthly palate such as rust, beige, terracotta, taupe, khaki and all the browns, but it can equally make navy or black look sophisticated and stylish. It matches well to our Sunset Olivia top as Kitten is wearing.

Beach Pyjama Trousers - Ivory

Beach pyjamas of the 1930s were sold separately or made as sets, trousers and a top and perhaps a jacket to coverup with.
Beautiful alluring classic ivory goes with everything and is certainly beach worthy. Ivory is deliciously clean, and can take bright colours, high contrast (black, navy or dark brown), macaroon pastels, rustic light natural tones (beige, tans) or MORE ivory.

Beach pyjamas of the 1930s were sold separately or made as sets, trousers and a top and perhaps a jacket to coverup with.
We are really delighted with this fabric. It is a nice medium weight so it isn’t see through and it is ever so slightly stiff, so it holds that wide leg in a beautiful shape. It has a little bit of stretch to it and it is really comfy. The floral design hides lumps and bumps and it’s truly delightful to wear. It is 97% Cotton and 3% Spandex, and is happy in a 30 degree wash. It will need ironing, but it does Iron beautifully and it doesn’t crease up terribly.
If you need to hem them, (and any trousers) do wash them the way you intend to always wash them first. If you use a dryer, then dry them too. All natural fabrics tend to shrink a tiny bit and it can become obvious when the difference between the perfect length and too short is only half an inch, as it is with trousers.
The colours are a light taupe/beige background to the lovely trailing khaki and grey leaves . The blooms are in pale peach, red , Ivory and blue-grey. We’ve matched them with khaki toned imitation horn buttons. There are small amounts of dark charcoal tones too – so it could lend itself to black accessories.
Size check – the slight stretch allows them just a little more room. You could size down if you are choosing between sizes
We are looking forward to dancing days, picnic days and holidays in these.
Both beach holiday worthy and look great on the dance floor. You could mix and match with one of our blouses, either as a top tucked in or knotted in front, or as a jacket over a sunbathing top.

Beach pyjamas of the 1930s were sold separately or made as sets, trousers and a top and perhaps a jacket to coverup with.
The return of our navy beach Pjs has been much anticipated. This time it's gorgeous thicker linen and viscose with a touch of stretch.
Navy of course is the classic basic for summer with its nautical roots. It's most obvious pairing is with white and red, but it will be happy with any other blue. I find it's also happy with warm colours: oranges, yellows, melons and peach. (If you are a redhead, this is how you toast up navy to suit you)

We’ve gone out on a limb and chosen buttons that had us drooling. They are painted wood from our lovely UK suppliers. If you don’t like them though, we will offer an alternative for you to purchase and change yourself.
Mother nature tucks a green next to all her flowers, so really, a colour such as this, a khaki really should go with everything. The buttons pick out orange, yellow, orange-red, navy, chocolate brown, and three shades of green (including THAT 30s Kitchen green – you know the one)

Black is always acceptable and these will take you from beach wear in summer to dance wear in winter. Black seems to thrive when put to work in contrasts, such as with white or Ivory, or highlights of tan. Black loves summer stripes too
