Martha Blouse - Cherry Berry
Regular price £50.00 (£41.67 ex VAT) Save £-41.67Red really should be considered a basic colour don't you think? Well, maybe not everyday for everyone but it certainly makes you dress differently if you embrace the idea!
This red is in a cotton fabric, and isn't as dramatic as the last red we did. This one is a true red, I'd say a primary colour red.
Great for under a suit at work, tucked into a pair of our trousers, worn loose as a jacket at the beach or knotted at the waist for fun and frolics. Match it to your lippy and it really won't matter what else you are wearing!
We've named the Martha blouse after Shona's great grandmother, a real adventurer, who followed her children out to New Zealand after her husband retired. Now that is some trip to make later in life. We think the Martha set is all about adventuring, even if it is a bit more urban than a pilgrimage on a sailing ship - just look at the pockets on the jerkin!
This style of blouse, with the strong pointed collar and darted shoulders shows up in sewing patterns from 1941 - 1946. The collar itself lived on a little longer, still appearing at the start of the New Look era.

It truly is Mellow, in fact it’s quite a buttercream colour that is not often seen.
Alert all redheads! This is your blouse!
I find yellow really refreshing in the months when spring is just waking up but you can’t yet go without your Woolies. It will liven up the browns, blacks, greys and navys that got you through winter.
Quirky trick - use lemon against leopard print. Classic twist - warm up a black with white outfit

Martha Blouse - Dogwood Roses on Taupe
Regular price £41.67 (ex VAT) Sale price £30.00 (£25.00 ex VAT) Save £16.67We've named the Martha blouse after Shona's great grandmother, a real adventurer, who followed her children out to New Zealand after her husband retired. Now that is some trip to make later in life. We think the Martha is all about adventuring, even if it is a bit more urban than a pilgrimage on a sailing ship.
This sweet print will be sure to delight whenever you wear it. Dogwood roses in peach, ivory, terracotta and light ochre scramble over a warm taupe background. The leaves add tones of forest and sage green.
It would go great with all your brown and beige tones, all greens, peachy pinks and could even handle being paired with raspberry red if it toned in with the peach.
The fabric is 100% viscose (AKA Rayon) and as such is very true to the styles vintage origins. However it does come with a warning in that all viscose will shrink 1-2% when washed. With ironing you can recover it to its original width, but the length doesn’t revert back to the original measurement. The manufacturer recommends dry cleaning for this reason but we prefer to wash on a cool setting (30 degrees is ok) and accept the small shrinkage. You cannot put it in the dryer, not even for a little bit, as it will not iron out again! The shrinkage will be permanent!

Martha Blouse - Happy Harmony

This very last blouse comes up small. It's really more of a size 6. Please check the measures below:
across bust 18" = 36" bust, Across Hem 17.5" = 35", length mid shoulder to hem 21.5" (this is shorter than our current blouses) and importantly, the arm cycle (the seam where the sleeve meets the body of the blouse) is shorter than normal at 16"
This lovely smart print features musical notes and symbols scattered about a navy background. You really can't go wrong if you need a simple novelty print on a classic blouse. Team it with denim or navy, any hot red, orange or yellow, bright greens, or white and ivory.
This style of blouse, with the strong pointed collar and darted shoulders shows up in sewing patterns from 1941 - 1946. The collar itself lived on a bit longer, paired with a softer shoulder at the start of the New Look era. It isn't "wrong" if you need it to wear as a late 30s blouse however, as sewing patterns always happened after a new style became popular
